Today is a rest day, but I was just wondering what would be the ideal running weather. And how it’s interesting how, during a certain type of weather, I always seem to long for the opposite. Well, and we Dutch like to complain about the weather anyway 😉
Remember I told you about my blue toenail on day 41? Well, even though I’ve been lacing my shoes correctly since then, the toenail problem still persists. Which got me a bit worried about Marathon Day suddenly, what if it’s still bothering me by then?
I ran a 10k race today, and I was supposed to run fast. Yet there were a lot of people in my way, and it was a narrow road, so I couldn’t pass them. So I thought it would be nice to have something to point out to them they needed to clear the way a bit.
I have to admit it was entirely my own fault I ended up behind them, by the way, the reason for that was that I was late, and while I was still warming up, the race started. So everybody else was in front of me.
The cat’s purr frequency is exactly 26 Hertz, which happens to be the exact frequency that scientists use in vibrational therapy to promote tissue regeneration! Purr vibrations help muscle growth and repair, and, as you may know, when working out (running, exercising), muscles break down a little, and grow back somewhat bigger and stronger later while you are resting. So, after running (or working out), you need to put a purring cat on your lap, simple as that!
I ran to the beach today! Not to actually spend time there (as the drawing suggests, heh), but just, well, to run to the beach (and back) from my house! I had never done that before, but I’ll definitely do it again! It’s interesting how destinations that were out of reach for running now turn into manageable distances. A great feeling!
Somewhere along the route I usually run, there’s this balcony which is completely filled with garden gnomes. I could just picture birds being in shock if they happen to land on the tree nearby.
It’s a fact that I am more sensitive to smells than other people I know. And sometimes this makes running a challenge for me, in particular when I run at times when people go to work and walk their dogs. Ugh!
Remember when I went shoe-shopping a couple of weeks ago? Well, the running shoes I bought then, turned out to be just a bit too small for my feet, so I returned them, and the store ordered the same ones, but a tad larger. Today they called me to come pick them up. So I rushed to the store, and it turned out the black and white coloured ones, which I really liked, were not available anymore, so they ordered ‘blue’ ones. Which are actually lilac and pink. My two least favourite colours!
It’s about how the shoes feel, how the shoes run, they say. I will not look at my feet when running for at least the next 6 months!
