Marathon – Day 41

When one of my toes started hurting and turned blue, I wondered what was going on, so I googled a bit and found this is something that a lot of long distance runners suffer from. Their toes bounce into the front of the shoe thousands of times while running, after all, and this can results in painful and blue toes. This can be prevented by tying your laces properly, to make sure the heel stays in the back of the shoe. So I watched a video on how to tie your laces this way, tried it, and I have to say my toe hurt less today. The only disadvantage was that it took me a long time to untie my shoes afterwards, but that’s not important when your toes are happy! 😀

Marathon – Day 39

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a very good thing someone invented electric bicycles. It’s a great way for people who perhaps are not able to ride a bicycle normally because of their physical condition and/or age to get out there and enjoy a ride and fresh air and all that. But why do they ALWAYS have to zoom past me when I am struggling with headwinds on my non-electrical bike?

Marathon – Day 34

So, I prepared to go for a run, checked a weather-app to make sure it was not going to rain (it showed me a blue sky for the next hour, no hint of rain whatsoever). I left the house, I did see some dark clouds, but trusted that weather-app, thinking they would stay far away. It started to rain a little bit, but I thought it would stop soon, so I kept running. And suddenly I found myself in very heavy showers, there was lightning close by, thunder… I am NEVER trusting that particular weather-app again!!
