I feel like an 80 year old today! Perhaps I pushed it a bit too much yesterday, still proud of my PB though!

I did a Ladies Run today, where, as the name suggests, only women can join, and (almost) everybody wears something pink. It was great fun, and I even managed to run a new 10k PB (50:24)! Apparently it is a running gag (pun intended) with runs that women always need to use the bathroom (several times sometimes even) before the start of a run. So they often put these portable toilets near the start. There were a lot of them also at this Ladies Run, though not as many as I’ve drawn here 😉
I don’t know if my running shorts are worn out or if perhaps I lost more weight than I thought I did (I did lose a few pounds since starting this, so that could be it), but they don’t stay in place any longer. Which is very annoying. So it seemed like a good idea to wear suspenders! At least it would be original, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody do that!
Perhaps this is the solution! No mouthpieces with patented systems needed, because gravity would pull the water down!
Today I tried solving my hydration problem with a vest with special soft bottles with water. The bottles have a ‘patented system’ where you have to turn and squeeze the mouth piece to be able to drink from it. Of course I should have tried this at home rather than during my test-run, it wasn’t a huge success, unfortunately.
So, I wouldn’t go as far to say I have a drinking problem, because that would sound like something entirely different is going on, but I do have issues with staying hydrated while running. Somehow, if I try to take a sip from a cup with water that’s handed to me during a race, it always ends up on my shirt, shoes or even in my face. Luckily, there are alternatives. But which one to choose? I suppose I am going to have to test them out.
I enjoy taking part in a race once in a while, like today. I decided to make sure I got a starting position in the front of the pack, which apparently was where all the fast boys were, according to the announcer anyway. I did run this 10k in a personal best of 50 minutes and 50 seconds! And I was 2nd in my age group.
Sometimes I see people running with their dogs. It would be nice to be able to take Storm on my runs.
These easy running sessions are an excellent opportunity to take pictures of everything around me!
Today, I wanted to cross the water, but the bridge was open to let a large boat through. So I decided to try and beat the boat to the next bridge! I succeeded (I have to admit it wasn’t a very fast boat though). I always try to choose my running routes so that I don’t have to stop for traffic lights, bridges or trains, but sometimes they just can’t be avoided.
