It has started.
Today is the first day of my 100 day training for the Amsterdam Marathon.
My training is unusual, instead of running long distances to prepare my body for that 42.192 km, I will run no more than 14 km at a time. Not because I am lazy, but because this method (found on sportrusten.nl ) puts less strain on the body. It has it’s advantages and disadvantages, as any method does, I suppose, and it’s criticized by marathonrunners who prefer the more traditional approach. We will just see if it works for me, won’t we!
On my first run I found it somewhat hard NOT to think of the distance I am going to have to run in Amsterdam. In 99 days, AAARRGHH!!
